Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee Donates $25,000 to YMCA

Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee pledged to donamtion $25,000 over 5 years on August 7th, 2008 to Ahwatukee Foothills Family YMCA's Capital Expansion Campaign. The funds will go toward the facility, teen center, preschool and YKidz after school programs. On August 7th morning, president, Jenny Wilkins, presented the YMCA board with a $5000 check for year 2008 pledge.

The Mervyn’s store in Ahwatukee will be hosting its annual ChildSpree on Saturday, July 19, 2008.

Lucky Ducky Derby Arizona

On May 17, 2008 at 10:00am, Arizona Lucky Ducky Derby presented by TruWest Credit Union will celebrate its 20th Anniversary.  With an expected 40,000 rubber ducks to be dumped into the SRP canal at the Scottsdale Waterfront, each racing to the finish line where the Grand Prize of a 2008 Ford Focus donated by Sanderson Ford awaits their adopter.

Freeway Chevrolet to be grand sponsor for the 32nd Annual Kiwanis Ahwatukee Easter Parade and Spring Fling

Freeway Chevrolet, located at the I-10 and Ray Road has agreed to be this year’s designated Grand Sponsor for the 32nd Annual Kiwanis Ahwatukee Easter Parade & Spring Fling scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2008. Mike Cook, Ahwatukee resident and General Manager of Freeway Chevrolet, is happy to assist Kiwanis in their effort to fund youth related projects in the Ahwatukee community.

Easter Parade and Spring Fling (March 22nd, 2008) Volunteers, Sponsors and Crafters Needed!

The Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee is seeking parade entries, volunteers, carfters, and local commercial sponsorships for the 2008 Ahwatukee Easter Parade and Spring Carnival / Spring Fling. The 32nd Annual Easter Parade route will be along 48th Street between Warner and Elliot with a 10AM Sharp kick off.

Volunteers Needed for Light Removal on Sat. Jan. 5

Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee has been assisting Festival of Lights in taking down the lights through out the years. Again, on January 5th, 2008, our members will be assisting in taking down the lighsts on Chandler Blvd. Lunch, soda and water are provided throughout the day and LOTS of wipes & Band-Aids!

Festival of Lights Hayrides Set for Dec. 15th and 22nd

Gather up your family and friends and head on a round trip hayride with an unforgettable luminary walk (sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee) in the mix. Horse drawn hay carts depart from Altadena Middle School (view map) and head north up Desert Foothills Parkway.

Desert Vista High School Key Club Blood Drive

Desert Vista high school Key Club is hosting a blood drive on Monday, December 3rd. The key club is hoping to sign up an process 63 people with appointment plus at least 10 alternates in case some of those signed up do not qualify. AZ needs 700 donors a day and we are low now and we are not even in the holiday season.
